The Entrepreneur Movement
With super successful shows like The Profit, Shark Tank and Dragon’s Den taking North America by storm, it appears there is a serious entrepreneurial movement taking place and surging with more momentum than ever before. More and more people are realizing that becoming an entrepreneur allows them to control their own destiny thus the reality for many is this path to move, in a real way, to their next life journey.
Unfortunately, major corporations are not looking out for your own best interest and are more focused on shareholders and stock price than their employees. This corporate mentality is forcing many individuals to think about how they can own their own business and the type of business they can fire up and start!
When I became an entrepreneur over 12 years ago in Calgary, Alberta with $500 to get started, there was nowhere near the level of focus on entrepreneurship. Today, it is a much much different story and I see it every day when meeting people who are wanting just that. This is so refreshing to see!
Becoming and moving into the entrepreneurial world is not easy and it appears that society has set things up this way to not be easy and making this an “only the strong survive mentality.”
One must be super resilient and not let naysayers or negativity get in the way. This is very key. This is tested time and time again as one transitions into being their own boss and running their own show. Trying to surround oneself with other entrepreneurs is critical as most corporate people cannot help you and simply just do not know how to help even if they wanted too. Reading many books on successful entrepreneurs as I did when starting out gave me the belief that yes, this is going to happen. Keep dreaming and build up your strong levels of belief of what you want and then go after it like a lion in the jungle and don’t stop!
