Minimalist Movement Is Key For Entrepreneurs
The Minimalist Lifestyle
You often hear of the phrase, "term less is more." Well its sister and close relative is the minimalist mentality.
As Humans, why do so many of us think the more we have, the better and more successful we are or the better we feel? Then as the years go by you may come to realize that all these things we have longed for and possessions are not the answer to truly being free and happy.
The minimalist wave is not just a trend but a solid and true movement to have less and then do more. Being free from clutter and things that slow you down is the golden key.
Today there are just way too many distractions along with more pings, rings, texts, applications on multiple devices then there is emails. Why can we not simply turn off the rings, pings and sounds when an email comes in? Or choose to not have any apps to have less? In fact I personally don't have one app on any device and it feels great! Having less in this case allows me to generate revenue and run my business effectively.
By minimizing all these little things that maybe you are not noticing could be a first step. I have a simple theory. If I have not used something in over a year or worn something in a year, it gets donated or tossed. As it is slowing me down and getting in my way. Try it one day and you will feel free and a mini sense of freedom.
Trimming some fat off costs and overhead runs in the same family of minimalism. Shave down or try to cut costing and see how that feels. I bet a big weight might come off your shoulders and you will feel a sense of natural organic relief. As Canada is not a cheap place to live and is an expensive place in all factors of life.
That being said, this takes discipline and some sacrifice. If you are not prepared to sacrifice something then you might not get as ahead as you once thought you could. Entrepreneurs in Canada and around the world make sacrifices that most do not want to take. This is why the upside is blue skies. Most entrepreneurs are fine with driving a low cost vehicle versus fueling their ego to have more and more. So moving forward ask yourself many questions of minimalism and less is more and are you doing this? Or are you going the other way? At the end of the day its the little adjustments that add up in a big time way.
